Since 1990, cars, trucks and motorcycles have filled the streets of downtown Amboy on the Sunday of Depot Days Weekend. Awards are given for Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best GM, Best Ford, Best Mopar, Best of Show and Best of Show Motorcycle, along with Mayor's Choice, Miss Amboy Award & a Special Prize for Longest Distance.
Depot Days, since 1982, is a celebration of our town's rich history and multicultural traditions. A lawyer for the Illinois Central Railroad, Abraham Lincoln once stopped in Amboy long enough to get a haircut, and later campaigned and stayed overnight here on his way to Freeport for one of the Lincoln-Douglas Debates. A memorial stone at the Amboy Depot Museum shows where he gave that speech. We hope you will enjoy your time here during our celebration!
